Welcome to the new home of my blog, On the Run.
In it I discuss the El Paso running scene and just running in general. At times I talk about upcoming races or training runs. Other times I focus on training, strategies and my interest in running.
And at other times, I write about things that just occur to me that probably have nothing to with running. Though if I work at it a bit, I should be able to tie anything to long-distance running.
This blog began, and actually still exists, on the website of my hometown newspaper (and my employer), the El Paso Times. You can go to it at http://elpasotimes.typepad.com/ontherun/.
I'm planning on moving some of my previous posts to this blog area.
I guess I should probably address why I'm moving it, though I don't have a great answer, except the Times is looking for bloggers who can post more often than I do (i.e., nearly daily) and get broad appeal from the public. I'm somewhat limited to folks interested in the quirky insights of a so-so runner who occasionally does unusual races.
So, you know, I thought it best to move to a new part of the web where I don't have to worry about these issues. It's kind of like going freelance or independent, I guess.
So visit my blog from time to time. Ask questions, make comments, suggest ideas and I'll get back to you. Since I like to write and run, this should be fun. But it's always more fun if someone reads it and responds.
